Yeah, expanded double knit is my fave since it's ~acoustically transparent if stretched tight enough and available in myriad colors to blend/whatever to the decor and in a pinch can be dyed with paint if you have a spray system.

Where durability is required, pet resistant window/door screen material works well, though the top end needs to be a little 'bright' as it rolls off the highs somewhat and AFAIK it's only available in black and gray.
